My first half observer had already gave up due to the non-promising weather, which it wasn't looking too good when he gave up, so the clearing was a surprise. We had a dust event at 01:25, then clouds kept us closed until 04:15 Another dust event at 05:28 out of nowhere hit us (very calm wind). This closed us for the remainder of the night. I would recommend a CO2 cleaning of the mirror on Monday. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:49 dcamera 389( 1174) 98 49 17.1 19.1 19.6 18.8 17.4 -- 1.60 04:19 dcamera 592( 1245) 40 57 15.4 16.7 18.2 16.7 16.5 -- 1.50 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 74 32 5 237 (WSW) 370 ptly cldy none 17:00 82 33 7 257 (WSW) 402 ptly cldy none 18:00 79 33 9 260 (W) 372 ptly cldy none 19:00 72 30 6 264 (W) 414 mstly cldy none 20:00 69 28 3 276 (W) 431 mstly cldy none 21:00 66 32 9 30 (NNE) 778 cloudy none 22:00 65 32 12 61 (ENE) 889 cloudy none 23:00 67 35 14 150 (SSE) 874 cloudy none 00:00 64 39 20 131 (SE) 832 mstly cldy none 01:00 63 39 22 136 (SE) 1062 ptly cldy dust 02:00 59 43 19 136 (SE) 30166 ptly cldy dust 03:00 62 36 17 170 (S) 4677 ptly cldy none 04:00 63 35 12 173 (S) 4116 ptly cldy none 05:00 63 35 5 176 (S) 3564 ptly cldy dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
