Engineering tonight was mostly focused on DIS. The blue spectrograph has a lot of contamination, but the red side is looking quite good. I brought the slitviewer into better agreement with the red spectrograph about where the telescope focus should be. APOLLO observed the three Apollo reflectors, starting with the one left behind by Apollo 11, in celebration of the 50th anniversary. I also used the APOLLO guide video for some analysis of tracking stability. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 23:31 dcamera 181( 965) 53 71 18.8 20.0 20.2 19.7 19.3 - 1.16 23:34 dcamera 199( 980) 51 72 18.9 19.9 20.2 19.6 19.2 - 0.98 23:54 dcamera 210( 975) 38 75 18.8 19.6 19.9 19.2 18.9 - 1.17 00:46 dcamera 327( 1090) 33 56 19.7 19.3 19.8 18.9 19.3 - 1.08 00:49 dcamera 313( 1076) 32 57 19.4 19.3 19.8 18.9 19.3 - 1.09 04:15 dcamera 292( 1013) 75 61 18.1 18.4 19.1 18.3 18.4 - 1.09 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 72 43 2 196 (SSW) 493 cloudy none 17:00 73 46 14 215 (SW) 388 cloudy none 18:00 71 43 8 189 (S) 478 mstly cldy none 19:00 71 41 9 184 (S) 374 mstly cldy none 20:00 70 39 8 171 (S) 321 ptly cldy none 21:00 69 39 13 180 (S) 356 ptly cldy none 22:00 67 40 16 202 (SSW) 379 mstly clr none 23:00 66 40 7 183 (S) 373 clear none 00:00 67 39 5 198 (SSW) 349 clear none 01:00 67 40 8 237 (WSW) 370 clear none 02:00 66 40 6 196 (SSW) 388 clear none 03:00 66 39 2 203 (SSW) 416 clear none 04:00 66 39 4 252 (WSW) 388 clear none 05:00 67 39 2 272 (W) 414 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
