I talked to Tracey and he said it was an issue with CentruyLink now. We have been having issues with an incorrect outside DP value for the opti-dew sensor. I have been using SDSS and the old 3.5m sensor along with the opti-dew inside dome DP to make humidity determinations. Up to around 23:00 those were in agreement, then the SDSS sensor started reading in the mid-40% humdity and the 3.5m outside and 3.5m inside opti-dew sensors were reading in the 80% range. I went outside and couldn't tell which sensors were valid. The railings were dry but the vehicles were wet). That along with no internet to see radar made for an interesting night. I went up at 00:00 to check the humidity in the dome (with the wonky humidity readings). It wasn't dry but there was also no moisture building up on the telescope or enclosure frame. I am apt to believe it is more 50% humidity (SDSS) than 87% as being reported by the 3.5m. Seeing is horrible >3.5 arc sec and my observers cannot see their 19th mag galaxies with this seeing, even though they can ID the field stars (blobs). by 00:40 I made the call that the humidity was real (looking at the visible cloud cam image) and closed. My 2nd half observer called and I told her the situation with the internet and weather and with the outlook minimal of the internet coming back up in the next 4 hrs we called it for the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UW07 01:10 05:47 Internet down, no way to use TUI ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:32 dcamera 783( 1492) 40 80 16.2 17.9 17.5 17.6 16.4 -- 1.20 22:33 dcamera 487( 1057) -97 61 11.7 15.1 15.8 15.1 12.9 -- 2.40 00:23 dcamera 990( 1356) 144 81 9.9 11.2 13.8 10.8 10.2 -- 3.80 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 68 47 20 203 (SSW) ptly cldy none 17:00 71 45 24 227 (SW) ptly cldy none 18:00 69 39 19 210 (SSW) 577 mstly clr none 19:00 63 36 26 216 (SW) 647 clear none 20:00 63 29 21 218 (SW) 871 clear none 21:00 62 25 10 215 (SW) 538 clear none 22:00 61 25 1 214 (SW) 577 clear none 23:00 53 49 18 79 (E) mstly clr humid 00:00 50 48 17 78 (ENE) 902 clear humid 01:00 48 47 21 78 (ENE) clear humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
