I was seeing lots of vertical banding on the echelle slitview camera tonight with quite a few images black/blank/bad. We were able to guide, but lost the star a few times, not sure if that was due to clouds or the blank fields or some combo. The high winds never materialized over night. We were open all night, even though we fought clouds for the first half. I did not get an Echelle IOL in the morning since my observer was using the instruemnt for cals. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:09 ecamera 450( 140) 121 60 13.2 14.5 14.6 14.3 13.0 ND1 1.14 01:09 ecamera 588( 136) -120 58 11.8 11.7 12.2 11.7 11.6 clear 1.30 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 61 18 19 241 (WSW) 706 ptly cldy none 17:00 62 18 36 243 (WSW) 670 ptly cldy none 18:00 60 14 14 250 (WSW) 836 ptly cldy none 19:00 57 11 19 262 (W) 1525 ptly cldy none 20:00 55 12 30 266 (W) 514 ptly cldy none 21:00 55 14 17 265 (W) 330 ptly cldy none 22:00 55 13 15 269 (W) 457 ptly cldy none 23:00 54 12 19 270 (W) 480 mstly clr none 00:00 54 12 13 263 (W) 435 ptly cldy none 01:00 53 13 21 265 (W) 495 ptly cldy none 02:00 52 14 18 256 (WSW) 636 mstly clr none 03:00 50 15 21 256 (WSW) 748 clear none 04:00 49 16 19 251 (WSW) 527 clear none 05:00 47 16 15 248 (WSW) 564 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
