We had two ToO request, one from UW12 and another from UW13. UW13 took A half from OU03 and we observed a comet with three tails! Almost as cool as a three headed dog. Seeing was moderate to poor and the sky, while relatively clear of clouds, was not clear of pollen. UW13 must have sensed this and they did not go ahead with their ToO. I closed the dome at switch over after monitoring the pollen. The clouds continued to stick around but there was no rain. It looks like pollen season is finally upon us. I think I hear Barry White somewhere out in the woods... No problems tonight ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:23 ecamera 471( -242) 62 24 5.2 6.0 6.6 5.8 5.4 ND4 1.82 19:17 arctic 795( 1417) 19 62 9.6 11.2 11.8 10.5 16.1 sdss-r 1.36 20:00 arctic 700( 1264) -5 63 9.6 10.1 10.8 9.7 16.1 sdss-r 1.33 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 63 32 7 249 (WSW) 262 clear none 17:00 58 27 5 248 (WSW) 267 clear none 18:00 58 28 3 300 (WNW) 226 clear none 19:00 54 33 4 96 (E) 210 clear none 20:00 50 34 13 87 (E) 202 clear none 21:00 49 33 14 82 (E) 254 clear none 22:00 49 32 17 85 (E) 266 clear none 23:00 47 37 16 84 (E) 696 mstly clr none 00:00 46 37 17 91 (E) 731 ptly cldy none 01:00 46 36 15 109 (ESE) 652 mstly clr none 02:00 46 35 19 125 (SE) 567 ptly cldy none 03:00 48 32 16 125 (SE) 491 ptly cldy none 04:00 49 31 17 150 (SSE) 403 ptly cldy none 05:00 49 30 19 142 (SE) 358 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
