(See Russet's PR agile/1863 for details.) Agile observations were complete earlier than expected, so we took the opportunity to do some training with the eyepiece, and trying out some objects for the upcoming VIP visit in April, plus recording and labeling the eyepieces with the field of view and focus values. Our NM04 observer finished a bit early, and gave ten minutes to the JH05 observer. Aside from an issue with the echelle slitviewer not updating on the observer's end, which was resolved by a TUI reboot- until it happened again, where I just took over the task of guiding because we suspected it was due to internet connection issues. Intermittent thin clouds bothered us from about 1 AM onwards. Ran into minor issues with Apollo at the beginning with the aircraft detection system, but Russet did...something to solve it. No other issues tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:12 ecamera 490( -270) -42 55 5.4 5.6 6.2 5.5 5.6 ND3 0.94 00:10 ecamera 562( -245) -104 49 5.6 4.6 5.2 4.5 5.1 Clear 0.97 05:11 APOLLO 400( 1417) 339 32 5.2 3.8 4.5 3.4 4.6 530 1.60 Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 52 8 15 256 (WSW) 123 clear none 17:00 50 10 18 238 (WSW) 196 clear none 18:00 47 10 6 262 (W) 223 clear none 19:00 45 9 12 268 (W) 199 clear none 20:00 43 7 8 271 (W) 180 clear none 21:00 41 8 8 262 (W) 220 clear none 22:00 42 9 12 222 (SW) 206 clear none 23:00 41 12 8 202 (SSW) 400 clear none 00:00 43 14 6 253 (WSW) 447 mstly clr none 01:00 42 14 4 252 (WSW) 449 ptly cldy none 02:00 41 12 6 206 (SSW) 441 ptly cldy none 03:00 40 12 3 212 (SSW) 419 ptly cldy none 04:00 40 12 3 182 (S) 453 ptly cldy none 05:00 40 12 1 146 (SE) 421 mstly clr none 06:00 42 10 8 169 (S) 330 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
