All the exposures looked good during checkout but when we went on sky things were saturated. Russet pointed me to the shutter which turned out to be the problem. Review of the calibration images showed that they were all bad. Once the shutter was reset the rest of the night was good. We had high thin clouds most of the night but were compensated with good seeing. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UW15 R I/H 17:48 18:45 Shutter failure ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:57 arctic 745( 662) 79 63 1.1 1.4 2.2 1.4 1.1 sdss-g 1.69 20:55 arctic 745( 662) 58 28 1.4 0.8 1.6 0.8 1.1 sdss-r 2.29 22:08 arctic 810( 725) 41 40 2.1 1.0 1.7 1.3 1.8 sdss-r 1.08 22:54 arctic 814( 734) 27 45 1.9 1.1 1.9 1.5 1.8 sdss-r 0.92 22:54 arctic 814( 734) 27 45 1.9 1.1 1.9 1.5 1.8 sdss-r 0.92 00:35 tcamera 879( 855) -160 33 1.4 1.1 1.8 1.4 1.4 Ks 0.94 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 39 4 16 193 (SSW) 329 mstly clr none 17:00 37 7 14 202 (SSW) 321 mstly clr none 18:00 34 5 8 171 (S) 362 mstly clr none 19:00 34 2 10 180 (S) 364 mstly clr none 20:00 35 -4 19 182 (S) 373 ptly cldy none 21:00 36 -1 17 177 (S) 327 ptly cldy none 22:00 35 -3 16 183 (S) 256 ptly cldy none 23:00 36 -1 19 194 (SSW) 373 ptly cldy none 00:00 35 1 19 201 (SSW) 258 ptly cldy none 01:00 34 0 18 205 (SSW) 341 mstly clr none 02:00 35 0 17 208 (SSW) 305 mstly clr none 03:00 34 3 16 209 (SSW) 382 mstly clr none 04:00 34 5 17 216 (SW) 363 clear none 05:00 34 4 15 219 (SW) 367 clear none 06:00 33 5 17 241 (WSW) 419 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
