I restarted the Hub and TCC I DID NOT zero the rotator tonight, I will due that tomorrow night CU07 took over for their program At 21:04 I took over for engineering. We had some clouds moving in by this point but I should be able to do the guider focus vs. rotation tests Russet wanted. Seeing wasn't as stable as I would have liked but Russet wanted me to give it a try and see what I could get. I opted to go to John Bally object and come back to this test. I think the clouds are just orographic as not much is around us on the satellite. Unfortunately I needed to wait until they cleared out before I could proceed. I was able to get on complete ABBA sequence of 300s ea exposure for John Bally before the clouds moved in again an stopped observations. I took a midnight IOL at temp -4.7C to see if the shutter would stick. It appeared to work fine at this temp. I needed a few minutes of UW12 time to finish up some tspec cals. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:04 tcamera 1027( 848) 34 44 -4.9 -1.8 -2.7 -2.0 -4.2 Ks 1.25 21:12 guider 811( 432) 213 37 -4.3 -4.8 -4.3 -4.8 -4.4 R 1.46 21:26 guider 845( 448) 223 61 -4.2 -4.8 -4.3 -4.7 -4.4 R 1.08 22:26 tcamera 868( 531) 129 32 -4.5 -5.1 -4.5 -5.0 -4.8 Ks 1.93 23:45 guider 837( 427) 74 57 -4.9 -5.2 -4.6 -5.0 -4.9 R 1.30 04:32 arctic 844( 411) 240 44 -5.6 -5.8 -5.3 -5.8 -5.5 sdss_r 1.14 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 26 -7 13 227 (SW) 372 clear none 17:00 26 -7 5 196 (SSW) 264 clear none 18:00 23 -8 14 229 (SW) 345 clear none 19:00 21 -5 14 202 (SSW) 300 mstly clr none 20:00 25 -10 19 236 (SW) 298 ptly cldy none 21:00 24 -10 19 235 (SW) 283 mstly cldy none 22:00 24 -8 13 240 (WSW) 291 ptly cldy none 23:00 24 -2 18 197 (SSW) 274 ptly cldy none 00:00 23 5 24 199 (SSW) 271 mstly clr none 01:00 24 6 25 198 (SSW) 279 cloudy none 02:00 23 5 18 200 (SSW) 271 cloudy none 03:00 22 5 18 235 (SW) 287 mstly cldy none 04:00 23 6 17 193 (SSW) 435 clear none 05:00 23 8 22 205 (SSW) 335 clear none 06:00 22 8 21 218 (SW) 365 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
