It was mostly cloudy at sunset and stayed that way for most of the night...when it then become totally cloudy! At least the seeing wasn’t half bad this time, bit it was getting impossible to see standard stars, much less 21 mag galaxies for NM07. Radar was starting to make it's way towards us and, as we weren't getting anything anyway, we closed just before 5am. During checkout, the left louvers would not open (the right were fine). I opened them manually and they opened fine (I also closed them manually). Weather forecast is calling for snow tomorrow night. They sat we might get 6 inches!! ...yeah, I've heard that story before. We shall see if it ends up being farce, again. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:40 dcamera 257( 252) -61 65 2.5 4.8 5.3 4.5 3.1 -- 1.48 18:38 dcamera 517( 400) 272 53 2.3 2.3 3.5 2.5 2.4 -- 1.53 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 39 18 5 263 (W) 123 mstly cldy none 17:00 37 19 11 290 (WNW) 122 mstly cldy none 18:00 37 18 13 270 (W) 134 mstly cldy none 19:00 36 15 16 262 (W) 139 mstly cldy none 20:00 35 15 14 283 (WNW) 193 mstly cldy none 21:00 35 15 15 275 (W) 211 mstly cldy none 22:00 34 16 12 266 (W) 205 mstly cldy none 23:00 36 17 11 256 (WSW) 187 mstly cldy none 00:00 35 17 14 251 (WSW) 186 mstly cldy none 01:00 36 17 15 266 (W) 193 mstly cldy none 02:00 35 17 17 236 (SW) 229 cloudy none 03:00 35 18 16 236 (SW) 187 cloudy none 04:00 36 20 20 212 (SSW) 279 cloudy none 05:00 35 22 23 222 (SW) 327 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
