I cleaned it as best I could (and what I could get to). Still lots of the litte buggers flying around in the enclosure tonight. I found the Az drive was at one of the emergency stops during my checkout. The rotator for DIS was also at an odd rotation angle (I suspect they moved LN2 today and forgot to move DIS back to 0 rotation). Not sure of the Az drive though. I pushed the telescope off the estop. I do not know what happened to my 1st half observer. They sent a confirmation email today but did not show up by susnet (it was cloudy) but by 30 min past sunset the clouds were clearing and still nobody had shown up. I opened around 18:00 and focused, and then sent an email (I had no phone numbers to call). The observers smart watch wasn't so smart) and didn't change the time automatically for her. Echelle failed at readout, similiar to what happened on October 23, 2019. During the rebooting of everything (and resetting the temps), the CCD looks like it warmed to around measured -90Cish? I issued the appropriate kermit commands and the chip appears to be cooling back down. The DAC is set to 207 and everything else looks ok with the TCHECK command. We had radar returns coming in around 01:40 and when the clouds appeared on the cloud cam I opted to close the telescope down at 01:53. It started sprinkling about 10 mins later. We never re-opened for the remainder of the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:20 ecamera 465( -161) 66 82 8.3 11.3 11.2 11.2 9.1 ND1 1.00 21:38 arctic 476( 846) -95 55 9.6 8.9 9.4 8.8 9.2 sdss_g 0.81 21:39 NA2gdr -249(37750) -95 55 9.7 8.9 9.4 8.8 9.2 clear 1.20 00:13 ecamera 423( -331) 37 63 7.9 8.4 9.2 8.6 8.1 ND3 2.30 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 52 30 12 262 (W) mstly cldy none 17:00 51 31 12 208 (SSW) ptly cldy none 18:00 48 30 7 179 (S) mstly clr none 19:00 47 31 7 159 (SSE) ptly cldy none 20:00 49 32 11 182 (S) mstly clr none 21:00 49 32 12 191 (S) clear none 22:00 49 32 12 184 (S) clear none 23:00 49 32 16 202 (SSW) mstly clr none 00:00 49 32 14 179 (S) mstly clr none 01:00 46 32 7 197 (SSW) mstly clr none 02:00 48 31 9 217 (SW) mstly cldy lt rain 03:00 48 31 10 197 (SSW) cloudy none 04:00 49 32 13 187 (S) cloudy none 05:00 50 31 14 190 (S) cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
