It's supposed to be clear, but cold. However, all the freezing fog and high yesterday left a lot of ice. There was ice on the roof and doors of the dome as well as over 6 inches encasing the lighting arrestors. Thus, we did not open at all tonight. The night started out humid, but that changed before midnight as things heated up, which also brought strong winds and we started gusting over 35mph. So, in the end, even if there hadn't been ice, we would have lost most of the night. This are supposed to warm up tomorrow so I parked the dome south to melt the remaining ice. No problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 24 20 14 314 (NW) mstly clr humid 17:00 23 18 10 322 (NW) mstly clr humid 18:00 23 16 15 351 (N) mstly clr humid 19:00 23 13 17 16 (NNE) mstly clr humid 20:00 23 12 18 26 (NNE) clear humid 21:00 26 3 25 15 (NNE) clear humid 22:00 31 5 22 336 (NNW) clear humid 23:00 29 -6 23 341 (NNW) clear none 00:00 33 -5 26 334 (NNW) clear none 01:00 35 -5 20 337 (NNW) 158 clear none 02:00 34 -11 19 317 (NW) 191 clear none 03:00 35 -9 16 342 (NNW) clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
