We had clear skies for the rest of the night. After cleaning a significant amount of moth gunk off the altitude drive surface that wasn't there yesterday, we had no repeats of the altitude drive problems from last night...until the beginning of B half, where we ran into a motion error and overcurrent on the first slew (00:14 local), trying to go to low altitude (21) from an altitude of about 71. Russet then went to higher altitude (78) and slewed to the target from there, getting through the trouble spot. We had no further issues, and the rest of the night was uneventful (with good seeing!) ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:32 tcamera 462( 1042) -13 36 8.8 11.9 11.4 11.4 9.7 Ks 1.12 00:32 dcamera 450( 550) -23 83 7.8 7.2 7.7 7.2 7.6 -- 0.90 Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 52 12 7 269 (W) ptly cldy none 17:00 48 6 1 282 (WNW) ptly cldy none 18:00 48 3 1 296 (WNW) ptly cldy none 19:00 49 4 1 242 (WSW) ptly cldy none 20:00 49 3 3 248 (WSW) mstly clr none 21:00 44 9 5 259 (W) mstly clr none 22:00 46 18 6 268 (W) clear none 23:00 46 20 11 264 (W) clear none 00:00 46 20 16 268 (W) clear none 01:00 45 21 10 251 (WSW) clear none 02:00 45 20 9 275 (W) clear none 03:00 45 17 13 316 (NW) clear none 04:00 45 19 7 308 (NW) clear none 05:00 45 20 13 321 (NW) clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
