And...yeah, we worked from 1pm to 6:00 am... We had beautiful skies with no wind and good seeing all night, so everyone was kept nice and busy! However, we did have rotator issues at 03:42am. A PR was sent with full details. DIS had a rotator error at mount rotation 74.3. I tried to reinit a couple times and slew CW but kept getting a motion error. I slewed CCW and was able to reach -140.9 before hitting another motion error. I went up and looked at DIS but there was nothing obvious inhibiting its rotation except, perhaps, the cabling. The cables seemed very tight and I'm wondering if moving CCW gave enough slack to the cables to allow me to rotate CW to nearly 180. Since I couldn't determine the problem, I instructed the users to keep the instrument upright and we had no further issues. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UV01 D I/U 03:42 03:55 rotator motion errors ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:37 tcamera 434( 669) 37 35 3.3 4.6 4.5 4.0 3.6 Ks 1.06 20:20 arctic 389( 435) 48 50 2.2 1.9 2.6 1.8 1.9 sdss-r 1.07 02:59 dcamera 473( 358) -42 51 4.4 2.3 3.3 3.1 3.3 -- 1.31 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 41 16 7 300 (WNW) 756 clear none 17:00 36 17 1 200 (SSW) 684 clear none 18:00 39 11 7 3 (N) 359 clear none 19:00 38 11 5 7 (N) 430 clear none 20:00 36 13 5 338 (NNW) 554 clear none 21:00 37 12 2 1 (N) 661 clear none 22:00 39 9 2 332 (NNW) 390 clear none 23:00 38 12 5 1 (N) 404 clear none 00:00 40 11 10 72 (ENE) 505 clear none 01:00 40 7 0 279 (W) 377 clear none 02:00 40 8 2 237 (WSW) 280 clear none 03:00 40 8 1 221 (SW) 362 clear none 04:00 40 7 1 245 (WSW) 335 clear none 05:00 41 9 2 8 (N) 426 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
