Seeing was decent, then a bad spell, then back to decent. Around 02:00 winds began to pick up and seeing degraded. Wind began to edge toward limits, and we had to institute a partial ban on objects to the south of us. Clouds began to blow in around 04:00. Clouds continued to thicken, but with no danger of rain, we stayed open until twilight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:59 arctic 440( 771) 73 48 7.8 7.9 8.5 7.9 8.1 SDSS_r 2.23 23:42 arctic 494( 794) -75 45 7.1 7.2 7.8 7.2 7.1 SDSS_r 1.64 23:56 ecamera 446( -365) -47 54 7.3 7.1 7.7 7.1 7.2 clear 1.05 01:22 ecamera 420( -435) 157 53 6.3 6.2 6.8 6.0 6.1 clear 1.36 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 54 18 12 262 (W) 681 clear none 17:00 54 20 14 211 (SSW) 795 clear none 18:00 49 18 18 243 (WSW) 854 clear none 19:00 47 16 18 216 (SW) clear none 20:00 48 15 24 216 (SW) clear none 21:00 48 15 23 214 (SW) clear none 22:00 46 17 26 213 (SSW) clear none 23:00 46 20 20 215 (SW) 1924 clear none 00:00 45 20 21 213 (SSW) 1356 clear none 01:00 43 23 18 202 (SSW) 1214 clear none 02:00 43 26 30 207 (SSW) 1009 clear none 03:00 42 27 24 193 (SSW) 986 clear none 04:00 40 28 29 206 (SSW) 1101 mstly clr none 05:00 40 29 27 210 (SSW) 995 ptly cldy none 06:00 41 30 27 200 (SSW) 982 mstly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
