The bad news is a few of the pesky b**ards got on the drive surfaces. I tried cleaning the moth remains but expect more of the goo to come out from inaccessible places over the next few days. But hey, I only saw about a dozen of them flying around today and lots on the ground! Winds kept us closed at the start of the night with gusts over 40MPH. We finally opened around 21:00 with poor seeing (>2.3 arc sec) A photometric night but poor seeing all night long. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:11 dcamera 381( 194) -85 55 0.2 0.8 1.3 0.9 0.4 -- 2.30 01:30 arctic 420( 304) -52 50 -2.1 -1.6 -1.1 -2.0 -2.2 CU_VR 2.60 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 35 15 0 308 (NW) 756 clear none 17:00 34 5 18 13 (NNE) 302 clear none 18:00 33 1 12 13 (NNE) 274 clear none 19:00 32 -1 37 27 (NNE) 272 clear none 20:00 33 -5 19 17 (NNE) 268 clear none 21:00 33 -6 16 5 (N) 277 clear none 22:00 32 -6 6 13 (NNE) 265 clear none 23:00 31 -3 23 24 (NNE) 361 clear none 00:00 32 -10 3 17 (NNE) 275 clear none 01:00 29 5 10 17 (NNE) 399 clear none 02:00 27 7 20 52 (NE) 374 clear none 03:00 28 8 15 53 (NE) 475 clear none 04:00 28 7 15 11 (N) 430 clear none 05:00 28 7 7 10 (N) 475 clear none 06:00 29 7 10 14 (NNE) 320 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
