After around 10 PM, the sky started clearing, but rain was still nearby on the radar and we didn't open until 23:20. The first half's observer got a single exposure's worth of data before switchover. We attempted to stay open for the beginning of second half, but humidity hit our limit and we had to close at 00:34. The observers did not get any data during this time. The user needed at least two hours before twilight to get any useful data, and at 4 AM there was still no signs of improvement, with the humidity too high to open. We decided to close up for the night, as the forecast showed no promise of getting any better. No other problems tonight. ------- Survival lesson: If you want to be noticed, shine with more reflected light (poem courtesy of Petko Nedialkov) ------- ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 23:46 dcamera 779( 732) 217 61 4.2 5.0 5.7 5.0 4.6 1.16 00:31 arctic 779( 828) 57 56 0.9 3.8 4.6 3.8 2.0 VR 3.04 Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 40 35 6 188 (S) cloudy humid 17:00 41 34 11 218 (SW) 61 cloudy lt rain 18:00 42 34 8 204 (SSW) 69 cloudy lt rain 19:00 41 35 14 236 (SW) 30 cloudy lt rain 20:00 40 36 12 227 (SW) mstly cldy humid 21:00 39 35 10 209 (SSW) ptly cldy humid 22:00 41 34 13 219 (SW) ptly cldy humid 23:00 41 32 12 197 (SSW) ptly cldy humid 00:00 39 33 14 186 (S) 137 cloudy fog 01:00 34 33 9 187 (S) cloudy humid 02:00 39 35 8 200 (SSW) cloudy humid 03:00 38 35 20 267 (W) cloudy humid 04:00 39 35 13 265 (W) mstly cldy humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
