We did have a dual layer of winds from the east and west. Seeing was pretty good all night but some clouds rolled in around midnight and spoiled the JH03's last couple of exposures. The Portable Adaptive Optics (Visiting Instrument) team any myself got a lot more data and practice with the instrument. Offset errors decreased from 100% wrong on the first try to about 50%! The Dataq needed to be restarted, but what's new. ARCSAT was being extremely annoying (see email) and required over an hour of hand holding. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:38 ecamera 353( 88) -5 67 15.2 17.4 17.4 17.1 16.1 ND2 0.98 20:38 ecamera 292( 3) -26 43 16.6 16.6 16.9 16.3 16.3 Clear 1.21 19:38 ecamera 353( 88) -5 67 15.2 17.4 17.4 17.1 16.1 ND2 0.98 20:38 ecamera 292( 3) -26 43 16.6 16.6 16.9 16.3 16.3 Clear 1.21 01:49 pao -35( -903) 83 52 14.8 14.2 14.8 14.1 14.2 Clear 1.30 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 63 37 11 272 (W) 744 ptly cldy none 17:00 64 35 10 323 (NW) 796 ptly cldy none 18:00 67 33 12 296 (WNW) 1011 ptly cldy none 19:00 64 32 7 321 (NW) 1015 mstly clr none 20:00 62 32 8 304 (NW) 986 mstly clr none 21:00 61 34 6 326 (NW) 968 mstly clr none 22:00 62 35 10 248 (WSW) 689 mstly clr none 23:00 61 33 15 231 (SW) 756 mstly clr none 00:00 60 31 9 260 (W) 753 mstly cldy none 01:00 60 27 10 264 (W) 749 mstly clr none 02:00 59 25 6 264 (W) 645 mstly clr none 03:00 59 24 5 279 (W) 619 mstly clr none 04:00 60 22 5 331 (NNW) 901 ptly cldy none 05:00 60 22 3 348 (NNW) 647 ptly cldy none 06:00 58 22 9 4 (N) 650 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
