The lights on the box were all flickering on and off at random. I swapped it out with the spare box upstairs but that didn't work at all. When I plugged the original box back in, it seemed to work properly. Maybe the contacts on the rear connector were the issue? Apollo video link to the control room was also not working tonight. The cable seemed fine, monitor just flickered. They were getting video feed online. The switch failed again around 23:20, this time we couldn't get it working again. APOLLO ceded the remainder of their time to the next program. A follow up to last nights rotator mystery. I did not zero the rotator tonight. When I took TSPEC off to mount Agile for the 4th program the rotator was close to zero, where it should be. I am guessing the cart slightly rotated NICFPS when I dismounted it last night. ARCTIC was left on the telescope this morning as John was taking some long darks. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:25 arctic 475( 1502) 34 54 20.4 23.0 23.2 22.5 21.2 SDSS_U+ND1.3 0.94 20:26 arctic 475( 1433) -103 30 20.3 21.3 21.8 20.8 20.3 SDSS_U+ND1.3 1.50 21:42 APOLLO 375( 1990) -11 47 19.2 19.7 20.5 19.5 19.2 -- 1.50 22:49 tcamera 597( 1462) -15 62 18.8 18.9 19.7 18.7 18.7 Ks 1.20 00:19 ecamera 290( 81) -2 43 18.6 18.2 18.9 18.1 18.2 clear 1.30 02:28 arctic 395( 1154) -40 33 17.3 17.4 18.1 17.4 17.1 CU SII 1.00 02:30 NA2gdr 5331(35331) -40 33 16.8 17.4 18.1 17.3 17.1 clear 1.40 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 76 32 12 314 (NW) 453 clear none 17:00 78 33 19 238 (WSW) 578 clear none 18:00 80 35 10 301 (WNW) 507 clear none 19:00 75 31 13 264 (W) 556 clear none 20:00 71 27 15 238 (WSW) 753 clear none 21:00 69 25 12 221 (SW) 759 clear none 22:00 68 24 12 232 (SW) 1012 clear none 23:00 67 25 10 228 (SW) 1170 clear none 00:00 66 25 3 249 (WSW) 1123 clear none 01:00 66 24 6 267 (W) 1029 clear none 02:00 65 23 11 317 (NW) 1225 clear none 03:00 64 24 8 333 (NNW) 1363 clear none 04:00 63 24 5 303 (WNW) 969 clear none 05:00 63 23 10 9 (N) 1046 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
