Is there a streak happening? Our trainees J.Lomax and K.Neugent were rocking the Casbah of the 3.5m cockpit. They had slewing, exposures, guiding, calculation, cals, and cookies down like pros. The weather was clear with little wind (thought the wind couldn't make up its mind as to weather it wanted to blow east or west), no dust, and some moderate seeing. The only hiccup we had was that dcam was not responding during switch over. This should have been an easy fix but, for the life of me, I was not seeing the difference between tcam and dcam when I tried to restart the hub. Thus, we lost about 8 min while I let my wheels spin. A hub restart with the real dcam was all that was needed. The dataq needed a restart at checkout and, if the tread continues, should need another restart tomorrow. It's summer solstice! The shortest night of the year! Which means...it's all downhill from here? ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UW05 D I/S 01:35 01:43 dcam not responding ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:33 NICFPS 344( 1518) 117 32 18.2 18.7 19.1 18.1 17.2 MK-H 1.23 00:46 dcamera 359( 933) -9 38 17.8 16.8 17.4 16.5 16.9 -- 1.73 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 73 30 13 283 (WNW) 478 clear none 17:00 75 31 15 252 (WSW) 507 clear none 18:00 76 31 10 264 (W) 443 clear none 19:00 72 28 7 308 (NW) 463 clear none 20:00 70 26 5 262 (W) 535 clear none 21:00 68 25 6 267 (W) 565 clear none 22:00 62 40 2 57 (ENE) 613 clear none 23:00 66 29 4 273 (W) 558 clear none 00:00 64 38 6 261 (W) 613 clear none 01:00 65 35 6 272 (W) 587 clear none 02:00 64 37 2 211 (SSW) 627 clear none 03:00 63 40 5 189 (S) 665 clear none 04:00 63 40 3 187 (S) 735 clear none 05:00 64 36 2 238 (WSW) 818 clear none 06:00 60 46 5 210 (SSW) 984 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
