Seeing was good initially and then mediocre when the wind shifted east. We had a little trouble on the switch to DIS when I moved the gratings at nonzero rotation, and they mispositioned. This messed up a science exposure in addition to the time it took to fix it. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CU04 D I/H 22:50 23:13 Turret needed to be homed ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:16 arctic 561( 1643) 50 31 21.6 23.6 23.7 23.3 22.1 sdss_u 1.21 21:14 arctic 399( 1387) -95 41 21.1 22.0 22.5 21.6 21.0 sdss_u 1.36 22:45 dcamera 298( 1050) -6 42 19.6 20.3 21.1 20.1 19.8 - 1.44 01:31 dcamera 370( 941) -92 49 16.8 16.9 17.8 16.9 16.8 - 1.58 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 80 35 17 221 (SW) clear none 17:00 82 36 16 196 (SSW) clear none 18:00 77 34 14 230 (SW) clear none 19:00 77 32 11 220 (SW) clear none 20:00 72 28 6 189 (S) clear none 21:00 70 24 13 176 (S) clear none 22:00 70 24 15 177 (S) ptly cldy none 23:00 66 25 23 141 (SE) ptly cldy none 00:00 63 45 23 131 (SE) ptly cldy none 01:00 63 46 21 124 (SE) ptly cldy none 02:00 63 44 22 133 (SE) ptly cldy none 03:00 63 43 19 137 (SE) ptly cldy none 04:00 63 42 19 158 (SSE) mstly clr none 05:00 62 43 17 157 (SSE) mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
