I guess it is that time of year. We could see pollen on the car windshields. The Echelle filter wheel was messed up at the start of the 2nd program. ND4 was actually clear. We had a definate smell of smoke this morning. Not sure the origin, maybe a fire buring to our west? SDSS observers first noticed it and said it looked like smoke in the basin as well. No fire seen, just smell of smoke. My ARCSAT user must have fell asleep this morning, ARCSAT closed automatically when I close the 3.5m this morning (just before sunrise). ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:38 arctic 589( 1451) 235 69 18.7 19.8 20.3 19.6 19.1 SDSS_r 1.00 19:41 NA2gdr 541(37541) 235 68 19.0 19.8 20.2 19.5 18.9 B 1.20 01:21 ecamera 309( 37) 193 61 17.7 17.2 17.8 17.3 17.6 ND3 0.90 03:48 APOLLO 350( 1813) -2 43 16.7 16.7 17.2 16.7 16.9 -- 1.10 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 77 31 18 262 (W) 514 clear none 17:00 75 30 22 244 (WSW) 739 clear none 18:00 73 29 24 254 (WSW) 1102 clear none 19:00 70 22 23 294 (WNW) 816 mstly clr none 20:00 67 23 16 279 (W) 1273 mstly clr none 21:00 65 19 22 282 (WNW) 805 clear none 22:00 65 19 15 267 (W) 780 mstly clr none 23:00 65 18 12 265 (W) 921 ptly cldy none 00:00 65 20 13 293 (WNW) 596 ptly cldy none 01:00 65 20 9 346 (NNW) 581 ptly cldy none 02:00 64 19 10 14 (NNE) 679 mstly clr none 03:00 63 19 4 358 (N) 456 mstly clr none 04:00 63 19 8 343 (NNW) 476 ptly cldy none 05:00 63 18 6 304 (NW) 1287 ptly cldy none 06:00 61 17 2 352 (N) 695 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
