We were having a dilly of a time finding a star in the NA2 guider for CU05. I finally realized we might be on the wrong filter and that the filters were not displaying. It took me a little while to solve the problem but then everything was good. In moving the central wavelength on DIS for NM03, I mistyped the values and the gratings moved, I'm assuming, too far and needed to be homed but it took me awhile. We lost connection to arcsat at 03:15 am. The camera was not responding and giving the error "error retrieving image array size". I tried turning the camera off and on but it wouldn't come back. I tried to close out the software and restart but it started flashing programs on and off and then crashed. After going to the dome I saw that the computer crashed and I couldn't bring it back up. On a good note, no clouds!! And fairly good seeing! There was a little bit of wind, which was annoying, but didn't cause any collisions. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CU05 R I/S 23:33 23:47 NA2 lost filter wheel NM03 D I/S 01:16 01:38 gratings needed homing ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:45 arctic 607( 1228) -4 69 15.4 15.2 15.9 15.1 15.1 JC-V 1.03 00:44 dcamera 285( 714) -39 32 14.0 13.9 14.5 13.8 13.9 -- 1.72 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 70 25 13 231 (SW) 1938 clear none 17:00 68 24 26 247 (WSW) 1449 clear none 18:00 67 23 13 263 (W) 1581 clear none 19:00 65 21 19 269 (W) 1365 clear none 20:00 61 17 21 262 (W) 1854 clear none 21:00 60 16 19 264 (W) 1571 clear none 22:00 60 17 18 279 (W) 1406 clear none 23:00 59 16 12 263 (W) 1598 clear none 00:00 59 15 16 297 (WNW) 1352 clear none 01:00 58 15 14 291 (WNW) 1329 clear none 02:00 58 15 20 303 (WNW) 1216 clear none 03:00 58 15 19 311 (NW) 1277 clear none 04:00 57 14 15 306 (NW) 1352 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
