How wrong I was. We had a very interesting wind system over us, a westerly ground wind and an easterly upper wind which formed clouds and some virga. Radar was nearby so we stayed closed for a few hours until it was safe. Then came the particles. As the dome particle counter is down, I was estimating the danger from the outside counter and playing it safe (it jumped on me and after that I didn't really trust myself to wait). Both users were able to observe their targets but not for their full time. Also, doom is near at hand. I found the first moth of the season. I fed it to the Venus fly trap. I was not able to catch the other two moths that were flying around, carefree. Their death will come swiftly and with Venus and vengeance. No problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:50 ecamera 245( -546) 244 36 3.2 6.7 6.9 6.4 4.2 ND2 3.58 00:41 ecamera 263( -585) 354 66 7.0 6.0 6.4 6.0 6.6 ND4 1.08 03:48 ecamera 366( -542) 34 55 4.8 4.7 5.3 4.9 4.5 ND3 1.04 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 50 7 17 285 (WNW) 834 ptly cldy none 17:00 55 9 7 260 (W) 850 ptly cldy none 18:00 51 9 9 281 (W) 744 mstly cldy none 19:00 51 10 5 258 (WSW) 721 mstly cldy none 20:00 44 18 7 86 (E) 4644 ptly cldy none 21:00 41 17 15 80 (E) 6470 mstly clr none 22:00 41 14 2 176 (S) 4139 mstly clr none 23:00 47 13 14 194 (SSW) 2734 mstly clr dust 00:00 45 8 12 187 (S) 2745 mstly clr dust 01:00 46 10 3 198 (SSW) 3904 mstly clr dust 02:00 41 9 9 190 (S) 5178 mstly clr dust 03:00 40 11 6 196 (SSW) 6152 mstly clr dust 04:00 41 13 9 184 (S) 6188 mstly clr dust 05:00 40 14 10 185 (S) 5296 mstly clr none 06:00 40 15 10 222 (SW) 5581 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
