There was much dust and things were rather flighty. The wind crested to nearly 50mph and we were left grinding our beaks over the situation. NM04 only managed to clutch their standard stars and nothing else. CU06 had a little more luck on their first night of training and preened themselves pretty with 3.5 hours of exposures. Seeing was moderate due to all the dust. No problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:38 DIS 475 76.6 75.9 9.6 11.64 11.97 11.58 9.69 -- 456 1.3 02:52 ARCTIC 441 103.9 59.9 6.1 6.72 7.20 6.70 6.00 sdss-r 1.45 05:06 ARCTIC 530 -8.6 68.1 20.2 5.19 5.19 5.27 5.25 sdss-r 1.22 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 55 9 20 283 (WNW) 4247 clear dust 17:00 59 12 28 266 (W) 4066 clear dust 18:00 56 9 25 268 (W) 5207 clear dust 19:00 53 7 23 262 (W) 8415 clear dust 20:00 50 4 25 272 (W) 4640 clear dust 21:00 49 3 15 278 (W) 7793 clear dust 22:00 48 1 29 281 (W) 7745 clear dust 23:00 46 -1 27 276 (W) 5659 clear dust 00:00 46 -2 33 270 (W) 4884 clear dust 01:00 44 -2 20 276 (W) 4572 clear dust 02:00 43 0 13 288 (WNW) 4681 clear dust 03:00 43 1 25 289 (WNW) 4109 clear dust 04:00 43 3 24 285 (WNW) 4118 clear dust 05:00 42 4 23 266 (W) 4262 clear dust 06:00 41 4 13 273 (W) 4537 clear dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
