Clouds grew thicker by 20:00, but eventually thinned again. Seeing was poor. Due to wind we had to aim for easterly targets. Around 23:00 the wind dropped and that restriction was lifted. Still with poor seeing and high cloud, observer had trouble locating very dim targets. Observers internet went down, so Obs Spec did some service observing (taking cals) until observer could log back in. The rest of the night was relatively peaceful, with better seeing and mostly clear skies. Dcam was acting up again, but settled down a couple hours into its use. We were open all night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:29 AGILE 552(-1039) -33 50 13.9 14.7 15.2 14.4 14.1 BG40 2.32 01:06 dcamera 566( 895) -120 57 12.3 12.3 12.9 12.4 12.2 - 1.34 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 62 17 22 258 (WSW) 1808 clear none 17:00 66 19 16 261 (W) 1888 clear none 18:00 64 19 24 248 (WSW) 2369 mstly clr none 19:00 60 15 28 276 (W) 2166 mstly clr none 20:00 58 13 21 263 (W) 2070 ptly cldy none 21:00 57 13 27 265 (W) 2103 ptly cldy none 22:00 56 11 21 263 (W) 2131 ptly cldy none 23:00 55 11 13 266 (W) 1904 ptly cldy none 00:00 55 11 24 284 (WNW) 1912 ptly cldy none 01:00 54 8 20 284 (WNW) 1855 mstly clr none 02:00 53 10 14 264 (W) 1823 mstly clr none 03:00 52 6 19 272 (W) 1979 mstly clr none 04:00 51 5 21 268 (W) 2296 mstly clr none 05:00 50 6 22 265 (W) 2239 mstly clr none 06:00 50 11 17 264 (W) 2039 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
