Dcam was again showing noise on a lot of images, to the point it was intrusive to guiding and locating objects. We raised the temperature of dcam from -25C to -20C and the noise was reduced significantly. The CU05 program involved lots of filter changes on arctic. We avoided the mis-alignment problem by homing the filter wheel every 30 minutes. Arctic also hung mid-sequence, and needed an init. We lost a quad in doing so. Fortunately the observer's target was not in the dropped quad, so we continued observing. We were open all night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:55 dcamera 420( 784) 120 59 10.0 12.9 12.4 13.2 10.6 -- 1.11 21:11 dcamera 481( 719) -48 61 10.1 10.6 11.0 10.3 10.1 -- 1.36 01:20 arctic 502( 851) -120 55 9.8 9.7 10.4 9.7 9.4 J-C_R 0.70 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 54 20 16 270 (W) 2078 mstly clr none 17:00 55 15 11 271 (W) 2301 mstly clr none 18:00 56 13 9 312 (NW) 2586 mstly clr none 19:00 51 15 6 265 (W) 2399 mstly clr none 20:00 50 14 4 254 (WSW) 2689 mstly clr none 21:00 50 11 9 216 (SW) 2770 mstly clr none 22:00 50 18 11 218 (SW) 2717 mstly clr none 23:00 50 19 5 197 (SSW) 2887 mstly clr none 00:00 53 14 6 263 (W) 3003 mstly clr none 01:00 51 12 7 207 (SSW) 2706 mstly clr none 02:00 50 17 8 186 (S) 2730 mstly clr none 03:00 50 15 11 209 (SSW) 2592 mstly clr none 04:00 50 12 13 217 (SW) 2297 mstly clr none 05:00 49 17 13 206 (SSW) 2443 mstly clr none 06:00 47 19 14 203 (SSW) 2250 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
