Maybe 80% or more of the images have some level of noise, and some were pretty bad/unusable for a lot of the first half. THey were observing very faint (18th mag) objects and we had a fair amount of clouds to deal with. By the second half things seemed better (both sky and camera). They were also using an ND3 filter in front of the camera too. They were also observering a very bright target (Jupiter) so that may have helped. No instrument or telescope problems otherwise. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:38 ecamera 661( 104) 21 40 9.4 11.3 10.4 11.6 9.8 ND2 0.90 19:34 dcamera 575( 788) 68 53 9.1 10.0 10.1 9.8 9.4 -- 1.10 00:36 dcamera 359( 498) 261 59 8.9 8.6 9.0 8.7 8.9 ND3 1.10 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 62 20 9 260 (W) 388 ptly cldy none 17:00 54 19 12 258 (WSW) 289 ptly cldy none 18:00 50 17 10 254 (WSW) 446 mstly cldy none 19:00 50 18 14 253 (WSW) 358 ptly cldy none 20:00 49 18 14 219 (SW) 329 mstly cldy none 21:00 49 19 14 203 (SSW) 405 cloudy none 22:00 48 20 16 227 (SW) 355 mstly cldy none 23:00 47 22 10 191 (S) 618 ptly cldy none 00:00 48 22 10 233 (SW) 275 ptly cldy none 01:00 49 22 15 251 (WSW) 280 mstly clr none 02:00 47 21 11 270 (W) 267 mstly clr none 03:00 47 21 12 287 (WNW) 302 clear none 04:00 46 22 16 308 (NW) 315 mstly clr none 05:00 46 21 15 318 (NW) 259 mstly clr none 06:00 48 22 21 312 (NW) 206 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
