A little while after I closed, the wind went over the limit and it started to snow. For the rest of the night we had intermittent snowflakes, consistent high wind, and usually high humidity. The snow was barely beginning to stick before morning. Because of the wind, I did not run the snow program, but I did change dome azimuth during a couple of periods when the gusts were not too high. I took the opportunity to work on the DIS focus with the instrument cold, since my previous adjustment was made during the afternoon and perhaps not respresentative of nighttime conditions. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:41 APOLLO 754( 1446) 46 66 1.0 1.9 2.4 1.8 1.4 530 1.00 18:25 NICFPS 872( 1135) 156 52 0.9 1.1 1.8 1.2 0.9 H 0.81 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 35 31 19 278 (W) 116 cloudy none 17:00 35 30 18 263 (W) mstly clr none 18:00 34 28 18 262 (W) mstly clr none 19:00 33 27 16 265 (W) ptly cldy none 20:00 32 27 16 241 (WSW) mstly cldy none 21:00 30 27 20 266 (W) mstly cldy none 22:00 29 26 12 265 (W) cloudy none 23:00 29 24 29 281 (W) cloudy lt snow 00:00 23 21 23 307 (NW) cloudy lt snow 01:00 18 13 24 345 (NNW) cloudy none 02:00 16 8 14 284 (WNW) cloudy lt snow 03:00 16 6 13 292 (WNW) 244 cloudy none 04:00 15 11 27 4 (N) cloudy snow Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
