I thought we would be able to get some work done, but unfortunately we had pointing issues due to a tertiary mirror rotation problem. I struggled with this for a while, and in the meantime the humidity got too high, so as a result the first program didn't get any observations. I watched the humidity and clouds for a while longer, and when there was a lull I decided to take a chance to confirm that pointing was all right now. The second observer was able to get a couple of targets before thick clouds took over. Not long after midnight it started to snow. I ran the snow program to minimize accumulation on the dome, but there was no hope of further sky time for the rest of the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- NM02 E T/H 17:15 18:15 Tertrot needs remap? ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:25 ecamera 754( -415) 252 66 -2.2 -0.4 0.0 -0.3 -1.6 ND1 1.45 20:51 dcamera 802( 378) 268 44 -3.7 -2.7 -1.4 -2.9 -3.5 - 1.99 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 32 20 12 244 (WSW) 245 ptly cldy none 17:00 29 20 15 251 (WSW) 188 mstly clr none 18:00 27 22 17 257 (WSW) ptly cldy none 19:00 26 22 14 249 (WSW) ptly cldy humid 20:00 26 22 17 259 (W) mstly clr humid 21:00 25 21 13 271 (W) mstly clr humid 22:00 26 18 21 268 (W) mstly cldy none 23:00 26 20 15 270 (W) cloudy none 00:00 27 20 19 262 (W) cloudy none 01:00 27 21 16 273 (W) cloudy lt snow 02:00 26 24 19 268 (W) cloudy lt snow 03:00 25 24 15 266 (W) cloudy lt snow 04:00 26 25 14 276 (W) cloudy lt snow 05:00 26 25 21 267 (W) cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
