It's only the second night and I can feel the winter upon me. The sky was clear, the seeing was good, the night was long. Everyone was able to get lots of photons and use all their time. It's a dangerous business, people, opening up the dome door. You slew up into the sky, and if you don't keep your offsets, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to. We stared for hours at star rings with our visiting PAO instrument. What can I say about the team except that they were once men; great travelers of men. Then Russet the Assigner gave to them nine sets of hours. Blinded by their greed, they took them without question, one by one falling into darkness. Now they are slaves to our will. We are the Night Gals: Obs Specs, neither living nor dead. At all times we set the center of the Ring, drawn to the power of mag One. We will never stop slewing you. So bright, so beautiful, aaaaaah preeeciouuuus sky... No problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:43 ecamera 531( -54) -68 55 7.7 11.0 10.5 10.4 8.7 -- 0.99 19:04 ecamera 548( -105) -159 44 9.0 9.5 9.7 9.1 9.1 -- 0.83 02:12 pao 150( -946) 41 59 11.1 9.9 10.3 9.8 10.4 -- 1.82 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 50 30 1 243 (WSW) 101 clear none 17:00 49 28 3 347 (NNW) 90 clear none 18:00 48 27 5 346 (NNW) 63 clear none 19:00 46 25 11 18 (NNE) 49 clear none 20:00 49 19 12 31 (NNE) 30 clear none 21:00 49 20 14 25 (NNE) 78 clear none 22:00 51 24 10 44 (NE) 53 clear none 23:00 52 24 10 18 (NNE) 28 clear none 00:00 52 26 10 7 (N) 29 mstly clr none 01:00 52 26 7 7 (N) 17 mstly clr none 02:00 52 24 19 17 (NNE) 8 mstly clr none 03:00 51 23 19 32 (NNE) 46 clear none 04:00 51 15 3 39 (NE) 3 clear none 05:00 54 11 1 116 (ESE) 7 clear none 06:00 55 11 1 217 (SW) 4 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
