Radar returns began to pop up near us around sunset. We held off opening until 18:30. Clouds were somewhat thick, but we were able to get data. Around 19:45 clouds thickened more. The clouds began to thin around 23:00. They stayed thin until dawn. All programs got their full times. Dcam showed signs of shutter issues (vertical streaks), as well as static on several frames, at times bad enough that we lost guiding. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:34 dcamera 431( 518) 49 45 6.6 7.4 7.4 7.6 6.6 - 1.45 23:05 dcamera 390( 372) 184 70 6.6 5.6 6.2 5.7 6.0 - 0.98 00:56 dcamera 425( 349) 218 61 4.4 4.4 5.0 4.3 4.5 - 1.14 05:44 arctic 500( 519) 22 55 3.4 3.2 3.8 3.3 3.5 J-C_V 1.05 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 43 15 3 220 (SW) 188 cloudy none 17:00 44 -1 11 186 (S) 58 cloudy none 18:00 44 -1 16 240 (WSW) 78 ptly cldy none 19:00 43 -2 10 223 (SW) 82 mstly cldy none 20:00 44 -2 12 251 (WSW) 67 mstly cldy none 21:00 44 -1 7 254 (WSW) 61 mstly cldy none 22:00 44 -3 9 262 (W) 42 mstly cldy none 23:00 40 17 7 277 (W) 218 mstly clr none 00:00 40 20 10 331 (NNW) 175 mstly clr none 01:00 39 19 7 340 (NNW) 174 mstly clr none 02:00 38 18 2 340 (NNW) 101 mstly clr none 03:00 40 26 10 319 (NW) mstly clr none 04:00 39 28 12 323 (NW) 179 mstly clr none 05:00 37 28 10 321 (NW) 210 mstly clr none 06:00 39 30 5 353 (N) 226 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
