Seeing was poor at the beginning of the night but improved later on (I'm not sure exactly when, since the targets during the first half of the night were cometary). There was a bit of time lost at the start of the night when the echelle started giving all-zero images, despite being fine at checkout. I restarted the ICC program and the instrument returned to normal. Aside from that, it was a peaceful and productive night. It's hard to be sure on fainter targets, but I think the echelle slitviewer's shutter worked all night. That was a nice change. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JH06 E I/S 00:34 00:52 Ech imgs all zeroes, ICC restart ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:34 ecamera 199( -761) 108 44 0.6 3.5 3.9 4.7 1.5 ND2 2.31 00:15 ecamera 373( -697) 67 55 2.9 1.5 2.1 1.7 2.1 ND 0.94 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 37 21 13 351 (N) 190 clear none 17:00 34 19 8 352 (N) 175 clear none 18:00 33 20 19 24 (NNE) 170 clear none 19:00 35 8 17 12 (NNE) 120 clear none 20:00 36 14 20 8 (N) 107 mstly clr none 21:00 37 8 18 12 (NNE) 96 mstly clr none 22:00 36 12 16 7 (N) 98 mstly clr none 23:00 35 16 24 26 (NNE) 158 ptly cldy none 00:00 35 12 10 357 (N) 77 ptly cldy none 01:00 37 17 14 2 (N) 133 mstly clr none 02:00 37 16 14 4 (N) 107 mstly clr none 03:00 39 6 9 1 (N) 68 mstly clr none 04:00 36 14 8 357 (N) 107 clear none 05:00 36 16 11 3 (N) 106 clear none 06:00 37 15 11 1 (N) 112 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
