Observing Specialist: R.McMillan
Another beautiful clear night, but this time with an east wind which made for poor seeing.  Observations started out peacefully, but then there was a problem with the echelle which messed up a 20-minute image.  I restarted some things and got it back, but then it failed another 20-minute image, so that was a lot of time lost.  I suggested switching to Tspec since it was already part of the observing plan, and I called Jon Brinkmann for help with the echelle in the meantime.  He talked me through a saddlebag restart which appeared to be a more robust fix, so we were able to switch back to echelle and get a few more spectra.
Second half went much more smoothly, and by morning twilight the echelle was still responsive to commands.
