CU05, after taking all their cals, was unable to connect when we went on sky. Turns out the computer they logged into for the sky exposures was blocked by APO. Jon fixed it really quick and I used the time to focus so no time was lost. We had a nice haze for all of A half which cleared to some gorgeous subarcsecond clear skies after midnight! We had a bigger hiccup at switch over. Our GS01 observer didn't show :( I called several times and emailed but he was sound asleep. Not so at dawn when he logged in in a blind, screaming panic. Try and go gently with him...he's only a grad student after all! Remember, one of your obs specs once slept through her own ToO... I wasn't sure how to mark the time so I removed GS01 from the list and set it as CU05 but left it as two separate lines. Technically, it was Not Used by GS01 but we were taking data the whole time so it was actually used. I'd like to point out that I tried calling several groups about immediately available time and so many people didn't list phone numbers in their proposals! You could have had a "free" night! Fools of a Took! ------------ A last second song for the last night of an interesting shift... Cover me, or just shun Cover me, things look dire Someone knocked me out' my sleep Now I'm on my knees Begging thee, Nancy please, hey Monkey, monkey, monkey Don't you know he's just a grad school monkey! ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:55 NICFPS 573( 768) 216 32 -2.9 -0.5 -0.8 -0.6 -1.6 MK-Ks 1.09 19:05 NICFPS 501( 595) 303 63 -2.8 -2.1 -1.9 -2.4 -2.9 MK-Ks 1.26 21:29 NICFPS 484( 519) 6 58 -2.9 -3.3 -2.8 -3.4 -2.7 H2-2.12 0.67 00:27 NICFPS 522( 588) -32 39 -1.9 -2.9 -2.3 -2.8 -1.9 H2-2.12 0.70 00:27 NICFPS 522( 588) -32 39 -1.9 -2.9 -2.3 -2.8 -1.9 H2-2.12 0.70 03:48 arctic 554( 214) 143 59 -3.8 -3.8 -3.1 -3.7 -3.7 UNM-657 1.19 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 29 4 3 210 (SSW) 197 mstly cldy none 17:00 30 -1 2 215 (SW) 187 mstly cldy none 18:00 27 0 5 189 (S) 216 mstly cldy none 19:00 27 -3 3 186 (S) 172 mstly cldy none 20:00 26 -1 11 139 (SE) 181 mstly cldy none 21:00 27 -3 3 189 (S) 163 mstly cldy none 22:00 28 -4 5 194 (SSW) 170 mstly cldy none 23:00 28 -4 5 187 (S) 164 mstly cldy none 00:00 27 -4 2 189 (S) 155 ptly cldy none 01:00 28 -5 7 182 (S) 146 clear none 02:00 27 -5 6 125 (SE) 139 clear none 03:00 26 -9 10 130 (SE) 121 clear none 04:00 25 -12 7 105 (ESE) 89 clear none 05:00 26 -15 8 129 (SE) 93 clear none 06:00 25 -22 8 122 (ESE) 66 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
