Details sent to engineering staff. We fought clouds most of the night. Finally around 23:10 the observers object was getting swamped by clouds and setting so I called the last hour loss to weather for them. I switched to the echelle during that time and was able to focus on a bright standard with NO filter, that's how bad the clouds were getting. Seeing was horrible too at 3.0+ arc sec with the Echelle. I let the NM04 observer use the cloudy time since they were observing a really bright target. No other problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:54 arctic 321( 426) 134 47 0.5 4.8 4.4 5.2 1.8 UW4686 1.50 23:40 ecamera 314(-1045) -140 59 -6.6 -4.1 -3.8 -4.3 -5.8 clear 3.00 00:46 dcamera 355( -214) -135 50 -5.3 -5.4 -5.0 -5.5 -6.3 -- 2.40 02:38 dcamera 519( -49) -6 49 -4.9 -5.4 -4.8 -5.4 -4.9 -- 1.65 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 40 16 10 229 (SW) 421 ptly cldy none 17:00 37 15 3 250 (WSW) 465 ptly cldy none 18:00 33 14 6 345 (NNW) 572 ptly cldy none 19:00 32 17 3 247 (WSW) 669 ptly cldy none 20:00 31 16 5 243 (WSW) 658 mstly cldy none 21:00 30 16 5 183 (S) 718 mstly cldy none 22:00 28 16 4 183 (S) 595 ptly cldy none 23:00 23 15 6 90 (E) 263 mstly cldy none 00:00 20 14 7 87 (E) 372 mstly cldy none 01:00 24 15 3 123 (ESE) 446 mstly cldy none 02:00 22 15 3 184 (S) 670 ptly cldy none 03:00 23 16 3 249 (WSW) 786 mstly clr none 04:00 22 16 1 229 (SW) 822 mstly clr none 05:00 24 17 2 244 (WSW) 1226 mstly clr none 06:00 23 16 1 217 (SW) 1127 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
