Skies were clear but seeing was pretty bad. Thankfully, the echelle performed beautifully and we had no problems with it. When switching between the echelle and tspec and vise versa, the tertiary failed to rotation on the first attempt. However, a "telmech status" and retry fixed the problem both times. ============ Since we have so much smoke we may as well pretend we have a camp fire. Let’s all gather ‘round for a sing along... I get up in the evening And I ain't seen nothing but gray I come home in the morning I go to bed seeing the same haze I ain't nothin' but tired Man I'm just tired and bored with sky smoke Hey there baby, I could use just a little help You can't start a fire You can't start a fire without a spark This sky's all mire Even if we're just coughing in the dark Midnight ain't getting clearer Echelle's on and I'm slewing 'round the place I check the counts on the mirror I want to change the counts, the air, the space Man we ain't getting nowhere I'm just working in a slump like this There's something clearing up somewhere Baby I just know that there is You can't start a fire You can't start a fire without a spark This sky's all mire And so we're just coughing in the dark… ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:55 ecamera 580( 235) 94 58 14.7 15.7 16.5 15.4 14.8 Clear 1.75 20:16 ecamera 492( 53) 177 53 13.3 13.8 14.6 13.7 13.5 Clear 2.67 00:25 tcamera 542( 1071) 117 36 12.1 12.0 12.6 12.1 12.2 -- 1.08 02:56 ecamera 290( -265) 79 47 11.9 11.5 12.1 11.6 11.8 clear 2.62 16:00 64 43 1 2 (N) ptly cldy none 17:00 66 35 1 192 (SSW) ptly cldy none 18:00 66 34 4 76 (ENE) mstly clr none 19:00 61 33 15 77 (ENE) mstly clr none 20:00 58 37 19 72 (ENE) clear none 21:00 57 40 17 78 (ENE) clear none 22:00 55 42 19 78 (ENE) clear none 23:00 55 43 23 76 (ENE) clear none 00:00 54 43 19 76 (ENE) clear none 01:00 54 42 14 84 (E) clear none 02:00 54 43 16 85 (E) clear none 03:00 53 41 14 78 (ENE) clear none 04:00 53 41 15 77 (ENE) clear none 05:00 54 39 9 89 (E) clear none 06:00 53 39 18 88 (E) clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
