I moved it the amout it wanted, -4 steps, and it only moved about -1 step. I didn't bother moving it again as it tends to just want to jump back and forth and it was within about 3-4 steps of being centered. This is a known issue with this particular grating motor but seems to be a little worse as of late. High humidity and clouds kept us closed all night. ION controllers were fine this morning when I shut the telescope down at 05:15. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 55 51 10 200 (SSW) mstly cldy humid 17:00 54 51 12 202 (SSW) mstly cldy humid 18:00 51 48 2 110 (ESE) mstly cldy humid 19:00 50 48 10 79 (E) cloudy humid 20:00 49 46 14 80 (E) cloudy humid 21:00 48 47 13 73 (ENE) cloudy humid 22:00 48 46 17 76 (ENE) cloudy humid 23:00 48 46 11 90 (E) cloudy humid 00:00 48 46 14 79 (E) cloudy humid 01:00 48 46 15 106 (ESE) mstly cldy humid 02:00 48 46 12 89 (E) mstly cldy humid 03:00 48 46 15 99 (E) mstly cldy humid 04:00 47 45 14 110 (ESE) mstly cldy humid 05:00 47 45 17 122 (ESE) mstly cldy humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
