Arctic filter wheel was tested during checkout, it behaved itself. The clouds remained thick until 23:00 but even then, only the moon was visible (no stars). Weather images showed the clouds clearing out soon, so we attempted an opening around 02:27. Had some trouble with the eyelid, which was resolved (for now) and we commenced observing at 02:45. We stayed open until just before dawn. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DD01 ARCTIC T/H 02:27 02:45 NA2 eyelid not opening ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 02:54 arctic 384( 904) -33 59 12.9 13.1 13.4 13.2 12.7 SDSS i 0.74 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 63 37 1 223 (SW) cloudy lt rain 17:00 63 38 5 179 (S) cloudy lt rain 18:00 61 37 6 244 (WSW) cloudy none 19:00 60 36 3 154 (SSE) cloudy none 20:00 59 41 9 110 (ESE) cloudy none 21:00 58 41 15 82 (E) cloudy none 22:00 58 40 13 79 (E) cloudy none 23:00 58 40 11 79 (E) cloudy none 00:00 58 40 12 74 (ENE) mstly cldy none 01:00 55 41 5 99 (E) mstly cldy none 02:00 55 41 8 89 (E) ptly cldy none 03:00 55 42 8 91 (E) ptly cldy none 04:00 56 42 6 100 (E) mstly clr none 05:00 56 42 4 97 (E) clear none 06:00 57 32 2 136 (SE) clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
