First program went off without a hitch (aside from the planned network outage). Clear skies, good seeing. For engineering, we attempted to take fringing flats while the skies were photometric. Unfortunately, after taking cals and finding a sufficiently sparse field, clouds began to spontaneously form over the observatory. We played dodge-cloud for a few hours. It was finally getting too cloudy and bright, so called it a night. Hopefully the flats will be of sufficient quality to be usable. We were open all night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:50 arctic 677( 1362) 216 76 15.5 16.5 16.7 16.5 16.5 J-C B 1.09 01:47 arctic 615( 1250) 222 41 16.3 15.1 15.7 15.2 15.4 J-C I 0.96 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 59 38 4 305 (NW) 780 cloudy rain 17:00 63 42 6 96 (E) 900 cloudy none 18:00 63 42 12 92 (E) 993 cloudy none 19:00 64 41 10 103 (ESE) 802 ptly cldy none 20:00 62 40 11 113 (ESE) 958 mstly clr none 21:00 60 41 16 82 (E) 977 mstly clr none 22:00 60 45 14 86 (E) 1012 mstly clr none 23:00 60 46 9 99 (E) 1025 mstly clr none 00:00 59 46 10 88 (E) 952 clear none 01:00 59 45 7 90 (E) 917 clear none 02:00 60 44 13 60 (ENE) 925 clear none 03:00 57 42 4 2 (N) 902 mstly clr none 04:00 60 40 9 24 (NNE) 849 mstly clr none 05:00 60 41 11 36 (NE) 917 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
