The night started clear and full of hope. We had good seeing for several hours but deuces were wild. We drew dust, wind, (producing awful seeing), clouds, a moment of clarity!, and then clouds and rain that came up fast. All bets were off at that point and we lost the remainder of the night. Kevin Schlaufman conducted his first night of training and is already a pro. After I closed up for the night and changed NICDPS to DIS, the counter weight, while still spinning, stopped adjusting the weight such that the counter was not spinning. A problem report was sent. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:50 dcamera 273( 977) -104 46 16.5 19.4 20.0 19.4 17.9 -- 1.55 22:04 dcamera 452( 1007) -144 57 15.9 16.7 17.5 16.4 16.1 -- 3.30 22:46 dcamera 519( 1021) -118 59 14.5 15.6 16.6 15.5 15.1 -- 2.77 00:36 NICFPS 564( 1528) -16 39 15.3 14.7 15.2 14.7 14.8 MK-H 1.44 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 74 41 13 192 (SSW) 1626 ptly cldy none 17:00 72 44 14 188 (S) 1812 ptly cldy none 18:00 74 41 13 224 (SW) 1612 ptly cldy none 19:00 69 44 8 199 (SSW) 1961 ptly cldy none 20:00 66 47 12 196 (SSW) 2469 ptly cldy none 21:00 64 45 13 167 (SSE) 2440 mstly clr dust 22:00 61 48 23 141 (SE) 3682 ptly cldy none 23:00 61 46 30 142 (SE) 2118 clear none 00:00 58 43 14 201 (SSW) 1377 clear none 01:00 58 40 22 153 (SSE) 727 clear none 02:00 60 37 23 165 (SSE) 579 clear none 03:00 60 41 17 174 (S) 1034 mstly clr none 04:00 60 41 14 182 (S) 1018 cloudy lt rain Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
