I was expecting us to be completely rained out for nearly the whole night and then to be cloudy the rest. I guess Russet made a deal with the dev...dew point. The clouds started clearing right at sunset and the dew point didn't sky rocket so we were able to open on time. Apparently, this is the best laser data in a long time. Seeing was good/excellent with subarcsec achieved during B half. Theme of the night "You can't take the sky from me." ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:17 APOLLO 550( 1834) 27 42 12.3 13.2 13.3 13.3 12.9 553 1.50 20:26 arctic 675( 1175) 115 34 12.1 12.3 12.8 12.4 12.2 sdss-r 1.20 01:10 arctic 646( 1035) 122 82 11.2 10.7 11.0 10.9 11.1 sdss-i 0.95 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 57 39 6 263 (W) 672 cloudy rain 17:00 56 41 11 56 (NE) cloudy lt rain 18:00 53 43 11 66 (ENE) 283 cloudy none 19:00 56 35 7 29 (NNE) 152 ptly cldy none 20:00 54 37 14 77 (ENE) 249 ptly cldy none 21:00 54 38 17 74 (ENE) mstly cldy none 22:00 53 39 19 79 (E) 326 ptly cldy none 23:00 53 41 11 76 (ENE) 487 mstly clr none 00:00 51 42 18 62 (ENE) 362 ptly cldy none 01:00 50 43 17 76 (ENE) mstly clr none 02:00 52 39 18 77 (ENE) 538 clear none 03:00 53 36 17 73 (ENE) 619 clear none 04:00 51 41 14 69 (ENE) 449 clear none 05:00 51 40 4 21 (NNE) 551 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
