Humidity. Terrible seeing for most of the night. But we observed! I delayed opening at the beginning of the night due to nearby rain. UW01 struggled the entire shift for every photon. However, things started clearing up around 1 am, which is when the humidity spiked but was never bad enough to close. NM03 could not use their first hour of observations and donated it to the AD01 program. Once they were on, the seeing went subarcsecond! No problems tonight ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:36 ecamera 397( 162) 131 29 16.3 17.4 18.0 17.5 16.9 clear 3.10 21:22 ecamera 492( 169) 122 71 15.9 16.3 16.9 16.2 16.1 ND3 1.78 01:22 arctic 604( 1266) 157 81 16.5 16.1 16.5 16.4 16.4 SDSS-r 0.89 02:20 ecamera 375( 36) 46 81 16.5 16.1 16.6 16.3 16.2 Clear 1.08 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 65 55 13 82 (E) 1721 cloudy none 17:00 66 54 9 94 (E) 1606 cloudy none 18:00 65 54 15 56 (NE) cloudy none 19:00 64 53 9 88 (E) 1321 cloudy none 20:00 63 52 15 80 (E) 1387 cloudy none 21:00 61 51 21 69 (ENE) 1282 cloudy none 22:00 61 52 14 69 (ENE) cloudy none 23:00 61 52 13 64 (ENE) 1373 cloudy none 00:00 63 51 10 21 (NNE) 1467 cloudy none 01:00 60 53 14 65 (ENE) 1462 cloudy humid 02:00 61 50 11 27 (NNE) 1408 ptly cldy none 03:00 62 50 15 41 (NE) 1353 ptly cldy none 04:00 61 50 11 25 (NNE) 1685 ptly cldy none 05:00 59 51 15 58 (ENE) 1431 ptly cldy none 06:00 61 48 13 68 (ENE) 1179 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
