It took about 5-10s longer to get to 80 deg than TUI calculated. The next slew the rotator hadn't acutally moved, then it moved when I issued a track mount command. This track mount command had a delayed azimuth move (took about 5s longer than calculated). I stopped the drives (red stop button and axis stop) and restarted them. THere was a good 10s delay from issueing a track command before the telescope started moving. I have not seen this beahvior before. I next reset the az, alt, and NA2 drive controllers. Total time loss about 30 mins in twilight. We actually opened about 20 mins after sunset due to cloud/rain threats nearby. We had to close suddenly at 23:30 as a small rain cloud formed and disappated over top of us. It lasted for all of about a minute and was gone. but long enough to set off the rain sensor. Sarah was reporting that her slit view images were not updating The weather computer takes about a minute to come out of screen saver mode. It is also acting very sluggish. Maybe a reboot is in order? Telescope wanted to drift in Az around 09:20(UT). I used the NA2 guider, with a brighter guide star, to keep it guiding properly. Maybe we ran over a moth??? We seemed to have a rather large boresight X offset for the next image. I cleared it by slewing to another star. I also noticed a fiducial error in Az, during that slew. I move the telescope over a couple of magna sensors to help with the error in Az. When we slewed back to the target it was much better centered. Field star guiding was much better now too. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:14 ecamera 542( -63) 239 63 9.1 10.7 11.7 10.3 10.0 ND1 1.40 23:06 ecamera 438( -303) 24 54 5.9 7.7 8.6 8.0 7.2 clear 1.70 00:11 dcamera 559( 649) -4 57 8.6 7.6 8.2 7.5 8.1 -- 1.80 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 56 32 5 124 (SE) 638 cloudy none 17:00 53 32 5 102 (ESE) 646 cloudy none 18:00 52 31 12 79 (E) 738 mstly cldy none 19:00 53 31 0 327 (NNW) 670 mstly cldy none 20:00 50 31 7 81 (E) 709 ptly cldy none 21:00 48 31 17 71 (ENE) 917 ptly cldy none 22:00 48 31 14 63 (ENE) 820 ptly cldy none 23:00 45 31 15 65 (ENE) 791 mstly clr none 00:00 46 31 11 38 (NE) 843 ptly cldy none 01:00 47 31 11 81 (E) 750 mstly clr none 02:00 49 31 1 60 (ENE) 809 mstly clr none 03:00 49 31 6 179 (S) 707 mstly clr none 04:00 49 31 3 137 (SE) 796 mstly clr none 05:00 49 31 4 97 (E) 769 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
