StartNubs did not work, had to power cycle the camera. It worked after the cycle. Skies were partly cloudy at the start of the night. Seeing was very poor, as the air temperature dropped much quicker than the mirror could cool. Several problems plagued us, ARCSAT misbehaved, the echelle-icc died, and we had a alt-axis halting problem. NM02's program had to be cancelled on account of echelle. We found a replacement in DD05, so very little sky time was lost. Over all, the skies were clear, but even after the mirror cooled, seeing reamined fair at best. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DD05 D T/H 01:32 01:52 Alt axis halted ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:42 arctic 598( 1148) 106 71 10.5 13.8 14.3 13.7 12.8 J-C B 2.63 01:50 dcamera 567( 773) 352 34 10.4 9.5 10.1 9.6 9.8 - 1.97 03:09 dcamera 598( 767) 125 64 9.2 9.2 9.8 9.3 9.2 - 1.63 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 63 21 11 271 (W) 697 mstly clr none 17:00 60 22 2 304 (NW) 652 mstly clr none 18:00 63 25 8 255 (WSW) 713 clear none 19:00 61 25 12 266 (W) 754 clear none 20:00 56 27 10 210 (SSW) 921 clear none 21:00 50 44 8 118 (ESE) 1850 clear none 22:00 49 43 14 158 (SSE) 2034 clear none 23:00 53 37 11 186 (S) 1204 clear none 00:00 48 40 15 160 (SSE) 1108 clear none 01:00 51 41 16 210 (SSW) 1138 clear none 02:00 51 40 20 213 (SSW) 1038 clear none 03:00 49 40 14 217 (SW) 769 clear none 04:00 48 37 8 235 (SW) 856 clear none 05:00 49 39 2 243 (WSW) 1013 clear none 06:00 48 38 10 262 (W) 972 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
