We had excellent seeing for a large portion of the night, then around 3 am the wind shifted to the southeast and seeing got bad for a couple of hours, but by morning twilight the wind changed again and seeing moderated, just in time for APOLLO. The only problems were little ones. gcam needed a restart at the beginning of the night again. Also, when I switched to NICFPS the NA2 eyelid failed to open even though the window said it was open; this caused a couple of minutes of consternation but not a significant time loss. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:16 ecamera 993( 272) 197 73 14.7 16.3 15.8 15.9 15.6 ND1 0.77 01:27 NICFPS 784( 1455) 86 75 13.5 13.3 13.9 13.2 13.2 J 0.72 02:56 NICFPS 762( 1414) -30 56 12.0 12.7 13.3 12.7 12.7 H 1.02 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 66 24 20 250 (WSW) 814 clear none 17:00 65 24 14 256 (WSW) 923 clear none 18:00 66 24 11 227 (SW) 1105 clear none 19:00 63 23 17 215 (SW) 1238 clear none 20:00 58 22 12 235 (SW) 1197 clear none 21:00 58 19 11 237 (WSW) 1178 clear none 22:00 58 18 10 235 (SW) 1137 clear none 23:00 57 18 12 197 (SSW) 1108 clear none 00:00 58 18 11 202 (SSW) 966 clear none 01:00 56 17 8 201 (SSW) clear none 02:00 55 19 14 187 (S) clear none 03:00 53 23 8 181 (S) clear none 04:00 52 28 1 148 (SSE) clear none 05:00 54 19 5 266 (W) 1331 clear none 06:00 54 18 9 302 (WNW) 1188 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
