They finally got too thick to observer anything thru around 22:50. I remained open, but we were not observing much. Dust was also climbing and I opted to close the dome around 00:10 when the counts hit 5000. We were pretty much clouded out anyhow so no need to risk it. Dust spiked at 04:15. My observers called it a night at that point as they needed 1.5+ hrs min for their long period binary observations. By 04:30 dust was at 14K and winds now 36+ MPH and it was cloudy. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:55 ecamera 1065( -89) 202 41 6.2 7.5 7.1 7.4 6.8 ND2 1.50 19:51 ecamera 955( -280) 260 79 6.0 6.3 6.7 6.4 6.2 ND2 0.86 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 51 25 18 243 (WSW) 845 ptly cldy none 17:00 47 20 23 237 (WSW) 1080 ptly cldy none 18:00 45 20 20 261 (W) 1245 ptly cldy none 19:00 44 20 16 249 (WSW) 1171 ptly cldy none 20:00 43 20 13 259 (W) 1251 ptly cldy none 21:00 43 19 14 258 (WSW) 1449 mstly cldy none 22:00 43 18 17 246 (WSW) 1572 cloudy none 23:00 41 20 19 245 (WSW) 1764 cloudy none 00:00 41 19 17 262 (W) 4117 cloudy dust 01:00 41 20 24 264 (W) 7374 cloudy dust 02:00 39 21 26 257 (WSW) 6299 cloudy dust 03:00 38 21 26 262 (W) 4400 cloudy none 04:00 35 20 27 269 (W) 8131 cloudy dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
