I initialized the instrument and also homed the mask. The slitviewer image looked fine (with and without light). That didn't fix the problem. I then tried moving the turret and it got lost. I homed the turret. This fixed the problem. We lost site power at 06:16, just as Candace was starting her final echelle exposure of Venus. On generator power now. Tripped intermediate level collision stop button, but it just needed to be reset to bring the telescope back online. I parked the telescope and closed up at that point. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:36 dcamera 813( 1061) 128 71 11.5 14.8 14.1 15.1 14.7 -- 1.10 23:22 arctic 778( 991) -120 60 11.4 11.0 11.5 10.9 11.1 sdss_r 1.00 01:16 ecamera 834( -175) 152 55 11.9 10.5 11.2 10.4 10.8 clear 0.90 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 60 13 8 263 (W) 2218 mstly clr none 17:00 60 14 9 257 (WSW) 2180 mstly clr none 18:00 61 16 10 215 (SW) 2117 mstly clr none 19:00 58 14 8 240 (WSW) 2039 mstly clr none 20:00 53 9 3 204 (SSW) 2075 mstly clr none 21:00 53 7 10 234 (SW) 2020 mstly clr none 22:00 53 8 9 228 (SW) 2160 mstly clr none 23:00 52 8 6 248 (WSW) 1939 mstly clr none 00:00 52 6 5 258 (WSW) 1825 clear none 01:00 52 8 6 295 (WNW) 1929 clear none 02:00 50 6 7 263 (W) 1677 clear none 03:00 52 7 8 324 (NW) 1651 clear none 04:00 51 7 9 357 (N) 1556 clear none 05:00 51 6 3 312 (NW) 1350 clear none 06:00 50 6 7 275 (W) 1242 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
