High dust kept us closed until 1:30 at which point a system forming to the west threatened to shut the night down in a few hours. We opened at 01:30 to give the OU class a chance (even if for a short while) to observe, with the fans in defensive posture. Closed at 03:00 due to not wanting to exposure the mirror to any more dust. Had a few snowflakes starting around 04:30, which ironically scrubbed some of the dust from the air, but now we had snow. The observers called it at 05:35. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:45 dcamera 600( 94) 240 57 0.8 1.8 4.6 1.7 1.4 - 1.91 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 44 16 19 249 (WSW) 12534 mstly cldy dust 17:00 43 15 25 256 (WSW) 10968 mstly cldy dust 18:00 43 15 26 264 (W) 22312 mstly cldy dust 19:00 38 20 5 276 (W) 12763 mstly cldy dust 20:00 35 20 15 327 (NNW) 14556 mstly clr dust 21:00 35 16 11 329 (NNW) 9362 mstly clr dust 22:00 35 15 10 325 (NW) 9128 mstly clr dust 23:00 35 15 11 274 (W) 9897 mstly clr dust 00:00 35 15 9 257 (WSW) 9785 mstly clr dust 01:00 34 14 8 259 (W) 8889 mstly clr dust 02:00 33 13 12 250 (WSW) 8665 ptly cldy dust 03:00 33 13 6 260 (W) 8302 ptly cldy dust 04:00 32 14 7 222 (SW) 6669 mstly cldy lt snow 05:00 32 16 14 189 (S) 5156 mstly cldy dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
