Good seeing, low winds. So of course arcsat had to throw a fit. It lost its pointing, and several intializations could not bring it back. Also, the flats light was on and would not turn off (no idea why). Finally got it to turn off by running a flats script. After several failed attempts at aligning scope, theorized that focus may have been off enought that ACP could not find stars to do a plate solve. Aligned, assumed a good alignemnt, turned on tracking immediately, and slewed to m13 to manually focus. When it was 'good enough', let ACP take over with its own focus and plate solve / correction. Did the trick. Checked several obejcts, allow pointing updates to correct position. All 3.5m programs were uneventful, and ran their full lengths. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:42 arctic 697( 1091) 15 56 11.1 14.5 14.0 14.7 14.1 SDSS-r 1.10 01:19 arctic 802( 891) -129 71 8.7 8.7 9.4 8.7 8.6 SDSS-r 1.07 03:13 ecamera 835( -304) -117 55 8.4 8.0 8.6 7.9 8.1 ND2 0.78 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 57 18 14 267 (W) 355 mstly clr none 17:00 57 17 10 257 (WSW) 345 mstly clr none 18:00 58 17 13 293 (WNW) 323 mstly clr none 19:00 55 17 5 263 (W) 322 mstly clr none 20:00 52 17 5 95 (E) 338 clear none 21:00 50 15 14 86 (E) 703 clear none 22:00 49 15 16 81 (E) 700 clear none 23:00 48 14 12 89 (E) 726 clear none 00:00 49 15 13 92 (E) 810 clear none 01:00 48 15 9 93 (E) 886 clear none 02:00 47 16 11 88 (E) 1004 clear none 03:00 48 19 9 92 (E) 1323 clear none 04:00 49 17 5 113 (ESE) 1017 clear none 05:00 50 15 1 168 (SSE) 522 clear none 06:00 50 15 2 162 (SSE) 507 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
