Performed a pointing model, and implemented it. Did a throughput test using DIS. Mounted nicfps and tested narrowband filters and grism combinations. Then using NICFPS preceeded to do a guiding test. Winds picked up and seeing degraded somewhat, but not terribly. Skies stayed clear the whole night. Was a very productive night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:05 dcamera 765( 757) -151 78 10.2 9.7 10.3 9.9 10.1 - 0.95 02:06 NICFPS 802( 1255) 131 61 9.4 8.9 9.4 8.7 8.9 MK-J 2.36 04:15 NICFPS 813( 1239) 149 69 9.4 8.4 8.9 8.5 8.9 MK-J 2.32 04:26 NICFPS 785( 1215) 152 70 9.4 8.5 9.0 8.6 9.0 MK-J 1.64 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 54 14 14 309 (NW) 347 clear none 17:00 52 12 9 342 (NNW) 270 clear none 18:00 52 12 7 353 (N) 273 clear none 19:00 51 12 14 298 (WNW) 202 clear none 20:00 51 14 4 319 (NW) 178 clear none 21:00 51 12 8 304 (NW) 171 clear none 22:00 50 14 9 299 (WNW) 193 clear none 23:00 51 14 8 314 (NW) 224 clear none 00:00 50 14 7 330 (NNW) 271 clear none 01:00 49 14 9 283 (WNW) 279 clear none 02:00 49 14 12 345 (NNW) 277 clear none 03:00 49 15 18 349 (N) 383 clear none 04:00 48 11 18 8 (N) 197 clear none 05:00 49 8 16 11 (N) 248 clear none 06:00 49 9 18 345 (NNW) 230 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
